Handshapes list and filter page
There are four basic finger positions:
1. closed (zárt) – the finger is closed while touching the palm
2. curved (görbített) – all the knuckles are curved
3. bent (hajlított) – the finger itself is straight, bent only at the fingertip, in most cases at 45 degrees
4. open (nyitott) – the finger is fully extended straight
For each handshape, the position of each finger can be clearly defined. Combinations of the above four finger positions on different fingers – on one hand – give certain handshapes, more simply: the way our fingers can stand on one hand.
If you would like to search for a specific handshape, please enter the exact name of the handshape in the box below, then scroll down after the search has been run to click on the “Next” button below the image to view the data sheet of the handshape you are looking for, where you will find its name, its exact definition, and a picture of it.
After reading the English texts here, please do not use this filter, but the one on the Hungarian interface, as it is under development. Thank you for your understanding!

Handshape search by fingers to use
Using the filter below, you can try very different handshapes by doing as follows:
1. With each finger separately, try to show the four finger positions described above, where you feel that the hand position is not an obstacle at all, click it in the 20 filters interface below, then press the search button!
2. Then scroll down the page to see the handshapes you should practice first.
3. Once you can easily show the handshapes you practiced before, click in a new, empty square compared to the previous one, – sequence: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. finger, closed, curved, bent and open finger position – then practice also the newly appearing handshapes!
If you are already familiar with showing a particular handshape, you will also see the relating SIGN-WORD-TREASURES on the detailed data sheet, showing them, you can practise moving the handshape in space.
If your hands are completely healthy, you can still use the programme to develop your fine motor skills in a variety of ways. If the movement of the fingers is facing a major obstacle, make sure you consult a doctor first, and get his or her opinion on the exercises to be performed! If you feel you need help, you can ask for a consultation; for more information see the “Shop” section!
After reading the English texts here, please do not use this filter, but the one on the Hungarian interface, as it is under development. Thank you for your understanding!
I wish you all the best in learning and exercising!
